Traffic
In Germany we complain a lot about the traffic on our roads and the amount of traffic jams. But compared to Johannesburg it is NOTHING!
I had to travel a lot this time. Driving from the one side of town to the other. The only time when the roads became a bit quiter was in the middle of the night.
At day time you sit in the traffic constantly! There is no time a day when the highways are really empty.
Maybe it is a good sign, cause people seem to have more money and so more people can afford a car. But if it goes on like this in SA and they will not invest in public transport the traffic will kill the economy...and off coarse fun in live! :-)

The end of the world...
I am used to the fact that the waether in South Africa is just the opposite to our weather in Germany. When it is nice and warm in Hamburg you can be sure it is either freezing cold in Johannesburg or cold and rainy in Cape Town.
Off coarse it also works the other way around, which actually happenes more often... :-)
So last Thursday I left a miserible cold Hamburg covered in clouds. The next morning arriving in Johannesburg I got just the weather I wanted: spottless sky and approx. 28 degrees.
It is so nice to escape our winter for some time...
But the next day a storm front came in.

The rain rain came down like something and within a short time the temperatures fell below 8°C.
Let's hope it gets better before I leave...
